This checklist is designed for independent mortgage brokers and small brokerage teams that already operate a website and need a disciplined way to review organic search work.
It is also useful when a generalist marketing partner is doing the implementation but the brokerage still needs a clear acceptance standard. Larger institutions may have internal brand, legal, licensing, security, or compliance controls that supersede this workflow, so those controls should remain the source of truth.
Evidence required: access to the live website, Google Business Profile, Search Console, analytics, current business identity data, and the firm's approved review process. Pass condition: the person running the checklist can inspect each system and identify the responsible owner. Fail condition: access is missing, ownership is unclear, or regulated copy is being changed without an approved review path. Severity: high when missing access prevents diagnosis; otherwise medium. Owner: marketing lead with technical and compliance support. Corrective action: establish access and ownership before optimization begins. Validation: confirm the audit owner can reproduce the evidence and route each finding to the correct team.
The scope is organic search. Paid advertising, social media, and affiliate programs should be evaluated under their own operating and compliance controls rather than being mixed into this checklist.
